WORLD SIMMENTAL YOUNG BREEDERS DETAILS OF THE PROGRAM Youth General Meeting: Presentations will be made by each team representing their home countries. The presentations will be constructed in advance, and the topics will cover the various issues that surround the beef cattle industry in your home country. Click here for Presentation Guidelines Round table discussions: This will provide the opportunity to have open discussions from all participants about what was presented that morning. Discussions will include the various causes of some of the major challenges, some possible solutions, how positive action is being achieved, what control does each of the participants have in shaping the future of the breed. Official World Congress Opening Ceremonies: Young Breeder Delegates have the opportunity to meet other delegates from the Congress World Simmental Congress WSFF General Council Meeting: Delegates will sit in on the WSFF General Council Meeting to gain exposure to WSFF constitution and decision making process Education Seminar: In this session there will be a discussion surrounding the various Youth Programs that exist within each Simmental Society/Association. The goal of this session is to find ways to improve each youth program, and for some associations, to aid in the creation and implementation of one. JB Livestock Simmental Ranch Tour and BBQ Dinner with World Congress Delegates: This provides an excellent opportunity to see a working Simmental operation in Alberta, as well as to continue making contacts with the many international World Congress delegates Simmental Cattle Show: This will provide an opportunity to see a Canadian beef cattle show ring, the show styles, types of cattle that are deemed Champions, and exposure to active show people of the Canadian Simmental Association Showmanship/Grooming Seminar/Competition: This will provide an excellent opportunity to learn the various showmanship styles from across the globe, and help to understand how Simmental cattle are viewed, groomed, and shown by different countries worldwide. Cattle Sale: Allows Young Breeders to learn, first hand, the current value of Simmental in Canada. Group Feedback Meeting: This meeting will allow for feedback about the new program, and be fundamental in the strategizing for the continuation of a YOUNG BREEDERS PROGRAM in future World Simmental Congresses. Official World Simmental Congress Reception and Closing Ceremonies: Young Breeders have the opportunity to maintain the contacts made with the experienced Delegates of the Congress.
Presentation GuidelinesAs a part of this Forum, we are requesting that each country and province to present a brief 15 minute presentation of the following topic: Where do you see the Simmental breed in your country in the next 10 years? How do you propose the breed gets there? What are some challenges facing the breed? What are some challenges facing the beef industry in general? Describe these challenges, and attempt to explain or create possible solutions to overcome these challenges. We encourage the use of any cited written materials, graphs, photos, diagrams or other visual aids to help illustrate your point. Additionally, we encourage each presentation be created in a PowerPoint format.
