WORLD SIMMENTAL YOUNG BREEDERS

FUNCTIONS AND GOALS

OBJECTIVE: To initiate a program to include young (18-25 years of age), enthusiastic Simmental breeders in each bi-annual WSFF World Simmental Congress.

GOALS: The purpose of this program is to serve two major functions:

i)                    to create an opportunity for young breeders to make valuable contacts for the future of their operations, as well as to gain valuable insight on the global cattle industry

ii)                   to aid in the improvement/creation of youth programs for each Simmental Association/Society worldwide

FUNCTIONS: These goals will be achieved through the bi-annual meeting of young breeders from societies/associations around the world, and through their participation will be responsible for the following:

i)                    Each delegate will be aware that they are representing their home country, the Simmental society/association within that country, and the entire membership of that group, and will act accordingly, and in such a manner as to ensure positive representation is achieved.

ii)                   The program includes a forum where Young Breeders will engage in in-depth discussions surrounding issues that affect the beef cattle industry in both their home countries and abroad. Discussions will provide valuable insight about the future of the world markets

iii)                 The program will allow for various opportunities for the Young Breeders to meet and mingle with international delegates and guests of the World Simmental Congress. Meeting with the experienced delegates will provide opportunity to learn about the current and past markets, business styles, and successful operations, as well as allow Young Breeders to make valuable contacts to market their current and future product to.

iv)                 The program includes a forum where Young Breeders will share information about the functions, structure and progress of their respective youth programs. This will allow delegates that do not yet have a youth program a framework to start one, as well as ideas for those with an existing program on how to make it better. Each delegate is responsible for creating a full report on what was learned from these Program Meetings, as well as action steps they will proceed to take to improve or create the youth program in their home country. These reports are to be examined and considered by the appropriate body (bodies) of each international Simmental Society/Association involved in the Congress.
