Un vent de renouveau

L’industrie Simmental Canadienne célèbre son 40^e anniversaire en 2008. Pour l’Association des Jeunes Éleveurs Simmental du Québec, 2008 représente une année de renouvellement. Ce n’est pas tous les jours que nous avons l’occasion de célébrer un anniversaire si remarquable au sein de l’industrie Simmental.  Il est donc notre intention de reconnaître les efforts des nombreuses personnes qui ont assuré le succès de la race Simmental au Canada et au Québec.

 Cette année, l’Association Simmental du Québec désire commémorer les contributions de ses membres en organisant une série de célébrations durant Expo Boeuf.   Kiosque promotionnel, réception en soirée, jugement Simmental, et remise de plaques sont à l’agenda.  Par la même occasion, l’Association des Jeunes Éleveurs compte aider à la promotion en organisant un jugement pour les Jeunes qui permettra à anciens et nouveaux membres de se rencontrer, socialiser, et échanger.

 Les évènements entourant le 40^e anniversaire ne sont pas seulement limités à des activités durant Expo-Boeuf.  Mlle Emily Grey, coordinatrice pour les Jeunes Éleveurs au niveau national, assistera au Congrès Mondial de la race Simmental, qui aura lieu en Grande-Bretagne cet été.  Elle ne représentera pas seulement les Jeunes du Canada, mais aussi spécialement notre groupe de Jeunes du Québec pour lesquels elle fera la promotion outre-mer.  En plus, il y aura d’autres initiatives prévues durant l’année pour soutenir les Jeunes Éleveurs.  Le tournoi de golf T BAR C et encans de fondation qui auront lieu à la Royale et à l’Agribition serviront à générer des fonds spécifiquement pour les Jeunes.  Également, un premier projet de calendrier promotionnel est prévu afin d’aider à subventionner nos Jeunes.  Les éleveurs intéressés seront contactés par les bureaux de l’A.S.C. pour la réservation d’espaces publicitaires sur ce calendrier.   Si vous désirez aider nos Jeunes tout en bénéficiant d’une publicité bien ciblée pour votre élevage,  n’hésitez pas à communiquer avec un de nos directeurs des Jeunes Éleveurs Simmental.

 Définitivement, une année très chargée s’annonce avec beaucoup de potentiel pour notre relève.  Cependant, il est important de se rappeler que ce sont les volontaires et les participants qui assurent le succès de nos projets et de notre race.  A new start

2008 marks a milestone in the Canadian Simmental industry as our 40^th Anniversary year has arrived. As for the Quebec Junior Simmental Association, 2008 has the potential to become a year of rebirth. It is not every year we have the opportunity to celebrate such a prominent event within the Simmental industry, but it is our intent and purpose to capitalize on the great efforts of so many people who have made the Quebec Simmental and Canadian Simmental breed what it is today.

This year the Quebec Simmental Association wishes to commemorate the efforts of all of its members by hosting several festivities at the largest provincial show in Quebec; Expo Boeuf. Promotional exhibits, an evening dinner, Simmental show and recognition of people within the industry will be featured at this event. Jointly, the Quebec Junior Simmental Association will attempt to further promote its organization by featuring a 40^th Anniversary show in order to provide both new and old members with the opportunity to exhibit and socialize.

Along with the 40^th Anniversary plans a great deal more has been scheduled throughout Canada and Quebec in order to support and promote our junior organization. Emily Grey has been fortunate to be given the opportunity to become the YCSA coordinator and will be employed for a one year term with the CSA. In June she will be attending the World Simmental congress in the United Kingdom too not only represent the YCSA, but to put a face to the Quebec Simmental Association as well as its junior program. In addition to this, several other initiatives have been devised in order to support the Young Canadian Simmental Association and in affect, the Quebec junior Simmental Association. The T BAR C golf tournament and foundation auctions at both the Royal and Agribition are two vital fundraising events developed in order to directly benefit the YCSA. Also, it is important to note that the YCSA is also introducing its first ever 2009 calendar fundraising initiative. In this event, the YCSA directors will be looking for interested breeders to purchase advertisement space in the form of business or events advertisements or dates featured directly within the calendar pages.  Clearly, a busy 2008 lies ahead of us, but what is most important to remember are the great people who have made this organization and this breed what it is today.
