JOE BARNETT NOW PART OF THE TEAM

Joe Barnett joined the Canadian Simmental Association as a marketing and public relations specialist on June 4th. In 2005 he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Mary, Bismarck, North Dakota. He was named to the list of Who’s Who Among America’s Universities and Colleges the year he graduated. He also attended the Harold Schafer Emerging Leaders Academy in 2005, an accelerated honors program focusing on networking and communication skills.

Barnett was been an active participant in the Canadian Simmental Youth program and was the 2006 World Simmental trip award winner. He was also a World Simmental Congress Young Breeders Forum participant and served as a director and president of the Saskatchewan Young Canadian Simmentalers.

He and his family operate a commercial and purebred Simmental herd with 300 cows near Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.  Joe will oversee all breed marketing initiatives, including Simmental Country and Commercial Country, and will be the commercial industry ambassador for the Association at breed at major sales and events across the country.

YCSA EVENT INFORMATION UPDATED

GENETIC EVALUATION UPDATE

CSA data has been submitted to the genetic evaluation. The results of this evaluation represent a state of the art genetic evaluation to determine the relative merit of available Simmental genetics.

PROGENY TEST PROGRAM
The CSA progeny test program is underway with our first cowherd finished breeding. Calves from last years program are now on the ground and looking good.

The program has seen rapid growth from last year’s two bulls to this year having nine bulls nominated to the program

ON-LINE ENHANCEMENTS/UPDATES
My Herd, My Inventory
You now have the ability to enter calving records from this screen. After locating the dam of the calf on your "My Posted Inventory" list, you simply click on the word "Calving" on the far-right of the screen. Enter the information and "Save" your calving record.

My Reports, Worksheets
There are six types of blank work sheets that can now be printed. The breeder can then complete these forms to assist them at the time of entering the data using either your Online login (or Offline Data Entry Tool).

My Account, My Details
If your email address ever changes, please enter your current email address under this screen and click "Save". This will ensure that the office has your most recent email address. Thus, you will be more likely to receive any important mass-email messages in regards to deadlines and changes to your Online system.

For those individuals that are not part of the THE program, please ensure that you do not complete this form unless you want a registration paper for the animal. Also, remember to sign the bottom of the form authorizing the office to complete your registration request. If the calf is the result of A.I. service, please indicate the AI date that is on the bottom of the purchased dam's registration paper. Or, consult your breeding records for the A.I. date.
