As part
of celebrating the Simmental's 40th anniversary in
Canada, the Canadian Simmental Association has
partnered with Jost Wineries to offer a
commemorative wine set to members of the Canadian
Simmental Association. The sets were
introduced and sampled at the CSA AGM in Ontario in
early August.
Jost Vineyards is an award winning, 45 acre
winery situated on the northern shores of Nova
Scotia. Each set includes two 750 ml bottles of
wine, one each of the following:
2006 Ortega Chardonnay
Gold
Medal winner at 2007 Taster's Guild International
This limited edition white wine is a blend of these
two Nova Scotia Grown Vitis vinifera varieties. It
is a delicate, beautifully balanced, off-dry white
wine with good body and length. The nose and flavour
suggests citrus, apples and roses. It pairs well
with poultry and seafood dishes.
2003 Trilogy
Bronze
Medal winner at 2007 Taster's Guild International
This red wine is made from the best Baco Noir, Leon
Millot and Marechal Foch grapes grown in Nova
Scotia. Soft, ripe tannins support lengthy fresh
berry fruit characters; aged in French oak barrels
providing smoky black cherry and anise flavours.
This wine has great aging potential and pairs well
with fine cheeses and hearty red meat dishes.
These gift boxed sets, especially designed for the
Canadian Simmental Association, are available in
limited quantities and members are encouraged to
process their orders as soon as they can.
