DR. ALLAN A. DIXON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is set up in the memory of, and in recognition of, the tremendous service of Dr. Allan A. Dixon, President of the Canadian Simmental Association (1970-71 and 1974-75). Dr. Dixon passed away May 6, 1975. The Scholarship Plan is administered by the Garth Sweet Simmental Foundation, whose interpretation of the regulations will be final.

TREVOR VANCE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is set up in memory of Trevor Edward Vance, Barbara and Bennie Vance's son. Trevor lost his life in a tragic accident on August 21, 1995. The Trevor Vance Memorial Scholarship is administered by the Canadian Simmental Bells Scholarship Committee, whose interpretation of the regulations will be final.

Procedures of Application for Scholarship

Application forms are available from the Canadian Simmental Association office. To request the application forms, please call, fax, or mail the CSA office so that an application form can be mailed to you. Completed application forms to be received by the office no later than October 1, 2010.

Note: Please ask for ONLY ONE scholarship application form. All applications received will be eligible for the Dr. Dixon Memorial Scholarship. The applications of those persons not chosen as Dr. Dixon recipients will be given to the Trevor Vance Scholarship Selection Committee.

   Application Guidelines

1. Open to YCSA MEMBERS and children of CSA MEMBERS
2. Applicants will be no older than 25 years as of January 1 of the application year
3. Applicants will demonstrate a career bias towards fields related to Agriculture, Agri-foods and /or Animal Husbandry
4. Applicants will demonstrate a spirit and passion for life in a manner which pays tribute to that path set forth by Jaron Arntzen
5. The applicant must include a copy of their most current post-secondary academic year transcripts and/or a current year letter of acceptance to a post-secondary institution
6. Applications will be reviewed by a group of at least 3 persons as selected by the Alberta Young Canadian Simmental Association President
7. Applications should be returned to Ashley Berkholtz by October 1^st of the application year, addressed as follows:

    Application Guidelines

1. Open to YCSA MEMBERS and children of CSA MEMBERS
2. Applicants will be no older than 25 years as of January 1 of the application year
3. Qualified applicants will be pursuing a post-secondary education
4. Qualified applicants should demonstrate a level of activity within the Alberta Simmental beef industry and/or Alberta Young Canadian Simmental events
5. Qualified applicants should demonstrate an above average level of interest in academic achievement
6. The applicant must include a copy of their most current post-secondary academic year transcripts and/or a letter of acceptance to a post-secondary institution along with their latest high-school transcript
7. Applications will be reviewed by a group of at least 3 persons as selected by the Alberta Young Canadian Simmental Association President
8. Applications should be returned to Ashley Berkholtz by October 1^st of the application year, addressed as follows:
